1. What PDFScan Pro Does

PDFScan Pro provides browser-based and server-assisted tools for working with PDF files (merging, splitting, compressing, converting, editing, OCR, signing, protecting, summarizing, and translating). Most tools run entirely in your browser using pdf-lib and do not upload your files anywhere.

2. File Handling

• Client-side tools (merge, split, compress, reorder, rotate, watermark, page numbers, protect, unlock, PDF info, JPG/PNG conversions) never upload your files. Processing happens locally in your browser.
• Server-side tools (OCR, format conversion, AI summarize, chat with PDF, translate, data extraction) transmit files over HTTPS. Files are processed in memory and deleted immediately after the response is returned.
• We do not train AI models on your documents.

3. AI Output Disclaimer

AI-powered tools (AI Summarize, Chat with PDF, Translate, Data Extraction) are powered by large language models. Output may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or hallucinations. Do not rely on AI output for legal, medical, financial, or safety- critical decisions without independent verification by a qualified professional.

4. Accuracy of Extracted Content

OCR, Word/Excel/PowerPoint conversions, and data extraction are best-effort automated processes. Complex layouts, scanned handwriting, low-resolution images, and non-Latin scripts may produce imperfect results. Always proofread output before distributing.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PDFScan Pro to:

• Process documents you do not own or are not authorized to modify;
• Bypass digital rights management or copyright protections;
• Upload content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or contains malware;
• Upload content containing personal data of others without consent;
• Abuse free-tier limits via automation or multiple accounts.

6. Reporting Issues

Errors in tool output or copyright concerns can be reported to support@pdfscanpro.com. We investigate reports within 72 hours.

7. Limitation of Liability

PDFScan Pro is provided on an “as is” basis. We make no warranty that processing is error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. See our Terms for full details.
